Keeping connected
(offline)
For many young people under 16, adjusting to the social media ‘ban’ will mean losing a chunk of the ways they have learnt to socialise.
The social media age restrictions are a big change, and these may feel overwhelming, so we’ve compiled some places for young people to connect in offline spaces.
Local libraries and community centres
While not all SA councils run youth-specific programs, libraries and community centres are hubs for free interest-based groups and activities.
Some local councils also have youth advisory councils, or similar groups for young people interested in making change in their local area and leadership.
Young people can find the council areas they live, study and work in here.
